Finding Work In The Finance Sector

Image

There’s a trick to choosing the right job. Deciding on the correct carreer, getting qualified, locating the right
job for you and then nailing the interview. Each step is equally important, as one without the other will
inevitably result in not obtaining work which of course is the goal.

Of course, some jobs offer a more stable lifestyle than others and jobs in the finance sector generally tend to be
stable and rewarding. Your location will also play a role in the availability of jobs. For instance if you’re looking for
finance jobs in Pretoria or FMCG jobs in Johannesburg, you might have more luck than if you were looking in Piketburg.

Either way if you’re looking for a solid carreer path, these would be good options to consider for your future.

Top 5 Beach Destinations in South Africa

The coastal areas of South Africa play host to a multitude of exciting adventure activities, such as cage diving in Gansbaai or racing down the sand dunes in Cape Town. In short; the beach front is where you will want to be. As summer winds down into mild autumn weather the beaches will soon be visited less, but until then, here is a list of five great beaches to visit around the country:

1. Clifton Beach
One of the Mother City’s favourite beach spots, the strip of Clifton beaches numbered one to four is where you go to do one of two things: lounge in the sun or surf the waves. The icy water is not ideal for swimming, but many individuals brave the cold temperatures to escape the hot African sun. Cape Town boasts a plethora of beautiful beaches, and other notable beach sites to visit include Muizenberg, Kalk Bay, the nudist Sandy Beach as well as Bloubergstrand.

2. Jeffery’s Bay
Home to the biggest, most exhilarating waves, Jeffery’s Bay is an earthly paradise to every surfing enthusiast. As the unofficial surfing capital of the country, it’s no surprise that this alcove happened to be the main filming location for the sequel to the successful surfing film, Blue Crush.

3. Grotto Beach
This picturesque beach in Hermanus is a favourite for whale watching. It is easily accessible and hosts a range of spectacular restaurants and beach facilities, all pleasantly set against cascading white dunes and a grassy mountain side.

4. Durban
This coastal port city of KwaZulu Natal plays host to a number of vibrant, colourful beaches. Along the East coast of South Africa runs the warm current of the Indian Ocean and the beaches dotted along Durban’s coast offer pleasantly warm waters.

5. Gansbaai
Known as South Africa’s hub for great white shark cage diving, this quaint coastal area also offers svelte stretches of white sandy beach peppered with huge dunes and mountainous hillsides.

Choosing the Perfect Wedding Venue in Stellenbosch

The beautiful town of Stellenbosch, found along the famously magnificent Cape Wine Route, is becoming an increasingly popular destination for couples wishing to tie the knot. And while other famous weddings around the world include Las Vegas, Italy’s Verona, Central Park in New York and the exotic Bahamas islands, Stellenbosch is undeniably the most famous wedding location in South Africa. Offering astoundingly beautiful venues and set amid luscious vineyards, century old homesteads, stone fronted churches and romantic Stellenbosch accommodation, Stellenbosch is a truly beautiful place to get married.

Choosing the exact location of a wedding can be trickier however. You’ll need to consider your own dreams, budget and desires but will also have to think of your guests and convenience. Make sure you’ve looked at every aspect of a venue before you choose to say your “I do” there.

  • Budget: before you can even go venue hunting it’s absolutely essential that you know what your budget is. You might need to contact a wedding planner for guided estimates and have a strict number in mind
  • Location: do you want a venue in the middle of nowhere, in the quaint town centre or on the outskirts of town? You’ll also need to consider how far guests might have to travel to arrive at the venue and travel home
  • Transport: If you choose a venue that is a far drive, consider ordering transport for your guests. Many venues take care of this and even offer golf cart rides to assist those with disabilities to get around at the venue
  • Religion: if you’d like a religious ceremony you’ll need to ensure that the venue has a chapel or the facilities to cater for it. Many Stellenbosch accommodation and wine farms have their own small churches on their estates or are conveniently situated near to them
  • Facilities: Make sure that the venue has the facilities for the exact wedding that you’d like. For instance, if you’d like it outside, the need to have a luxury tent and if you’d like to have it inside, they’ll need to have a room large enough to comfortably hold all of your guests
  • Accommodation: you might want to spend your wedding night in nearby or onsite luxury accommodation in Stellenbosch. You might also like to find out whether the venue has a room in which you can get ready on the morning of your wedding
  • Children: most wine farms in Stellenbosch are open to children being on the premises however you will need to double check with them first. It’s also a good idea to take a look around and see if there might be a playground to keep them occupied
  • Photographs: As many couples choose to get married in Stellenbosch due to its magnificent beauty, you shouldn’t have to worry about your photographs. Ask the venue if they can recommend a photographer to you or include one in their venue package

If you’re planning your big day in Stellenbosch, you can be sure to have the wedding of your dreams. This stunningly beautiful location is a romantic paradise, offering you the privacy, beauty and luxury that you’ve been dreaming of for your nuptials. While you might have to consider a few things before paying the deposit on a wedding venue, you’ll undoubtedly quickly find the place that you’ve been dreaming of and will be able to start planning a day you’ve been dreaming of.

How to spot a whale in an ocean of blue

You can spot a whale watcher from a mile away during Whale Season. Usually holding up the traffic with a few pairs of binoculars hanging out the windows and fingers pointing ecstatically as they spot whales in False Bay. However, it’s always best to pull over and view these majestic mammals as they frolic in our warm oceans. But where are the best places to spot them?

Boyes Drive

Boyes Drive is a popular view point all year round, not only during whale season and offers panoramic views of the whole of False Bay coast from Gordon’s Bay to Simons Town and the vast blue ocean in between. There are plenty of vantage points to spot a few whales and the elevation of Boyes Drive means that you’ll have an almost bird’s eye view of Southern Right and Humpback Whales as they slowly move through the warm waters.

Jagers Walk

Southern Right Whales like to play and are a curious creature which leads them to explore close to boulders and shorelines. This is something those who walk along Jagers Walk towards Glencairn will enjoy with many previous viewers having water sprayed on them while the whales blow. This is a scenic walk and provides the perfect place from where to watch the annual visitors.

Boulders to Smitswinkel Bay

Viewing whales at Boulders Beach will provide you with more than just a viewing of these loveable creatures. You’ll also get the chance to mingle with a few penguins while taking in the sights of the whales putting on a display of their fun behaviour including blowing, breaching and lob tailing. Smitswinkel Bay also offers a more secluded vantage point and is likely to be less crowded than other viewing points along the False Bay coastline.

Noordehoek is a perfect place to stay while visiting False Bay during Whale Season. Noordhoek accommodation offers visitors to the deep South the chance to experience all the natural splendour on display in this area and to be in close proximity to the whale viewing points.

You would be hard pressed to find a bed and breakfast in Noordhoek that doesn’t have a few secret whale viewing spots of their own and they’d probably be happy to share their knowledge about Whale Season with all who pass through their doors.

Car hire in Cape Town

long term car hire in cape townMy family and I were planning a holiday in South Africa. We were flying from abroad so we needed a car for the three months that we would be staying there. I came across many car rental businesses, but what caught my attention was that Drive Africa offered 4×4 rentals as well as long term car hire in Cape Town which is exactly what I was looking for.

The highlight about the whole package is that you get unlimited mileage, as my family and I will be travelling a lot in South Africa as it is our first time visiting the country so there is lots on our to do list. For any tourists this really is the best most convenient option.

I was very impressed with Drive Africa’s service, they were efficient and our long term car hire in Cape Town is now booked and awaiting our arrival. For anyone looking for car rental companies I highly recommend this company as there prices are very good as well as their service is outstanding.

The Popularity of Holiday Villas

Anne Porter is the measurement to which all other real estate agencies need to aspire. Through their partnership with internationally renowned company, Knight Frank, they have been able to provide the best advice on property purchase, rental, as well as the monotonous and complex process of acquiring insurance.

Over and above this, they specialise in the rental of exclusive holiday villas that are located in some of the most affluent suburbs in Cape Town. The range is diverse and, through their user-friendly website, you will be able to choose exactly which property suits your budget as your ideal location.

The villas have been chosen because of the prime land on which they are situated. The majority of them are built on the mountain, which allows for some of the best views of Cape Town.  All the villas overlook the postcard-worthy beaches, coastline and even the famous Robben Island, which is a National Heritage site.

Luxury apartments are also on offer, should you not require the amount of space that is consistent with a villa. This is also a better option if you are not planning on a long-term stay, but you still want to experience the iconic beauty that Cape Town boasts. Many of these apartments are located at the historic V&A Waterfront, which is arguably the apex of locations in the entire Mother City. For the discerning holiday-maker who knows exactly what constitutes real luxury, there can be no better option than renting an apartment that is literally a stone’s throw away from the most renowned attractions. Estate agents in Cape Town have a wide portfolio of options to suit your needs.

The manager of the Atlantic Seaboard branch of Anne Porter, Helen Hoekstra, shares her knowledge regarding the popularity of holiday villas and luxury apartments as examples of apex real estate in Cape Town, “Anne Porter Knight Frank has been involved in Holiday rentals for the past two and a half years and the market is booming with over 300 villas in our portfolio with limited stock available over peak season. This shows the increasing demand for self-catering villas. Cape Town’s beautiful tourist attractions and Atlantic coast line have made it a destination of choice for overseas visitors as well as visitors from Johannesburg; our real estate agents are also seeing a general trend of visitors from our neighbouring African countries.

She comments further, “We have seen an exponential growth in the market as more and more visitors are vacationing in Cape Town and choosing self-catering properties over hotels as the discerning traveller wishes for the luxury of a hotel but the privacy which a villa can provide for them. The villas are centrally located to a wide variety of shops, restaurants and beaches. Most of villas have a 5 star grading with impeccable finishing, top standard appliances, excellent views and private pools and come standard with housekeeping, wireless internet and secure parking. [We are] renowned for applying the highest standards of quality and integrity in all our services. The real estate agents have a reputation for uncompromising professionalism in everything we do and this is earned day in and day out by serving our clients and earning their trust.”

Gotta Love South Africa!

Image
The Kruger Park has got to be one of the most sort after holiday destinations the world over. Any kind of wild life you can think of and the Kruger Park tours offered are just beyond expectation every time. Taking my family there was just a joy and the young ones were awe struck by their first experience of the african terrain.

Having said that we also had a jol on our tour to the garden route. Such greenery that we just aren’t exposed to where we’re from. The company we used, Nomad Tours, just did a fantastic job organizing the whole garden route trip and we were 100% satisfied.

Next time you’re in SA give these destinations a go and post here to let me know what you think!
